Willie Clancy returns to Miltown!

County Clare's pre-eminent sculptor, Shane Gilmore, has been commissioned by Dr Herbert W. "Barry" Merrill & Judith Spencer Merrill to produce a life-size statue of Willie Clancy. Shane visited Áras OaC on Saturday 28th April to show a preliminary clay model of the bust of the statue to some of Willie's old neighbours. The neighbours unanimously approved the likeness achieved by Shane

Our photo shows Shane Gilmore examining the bust, with Willie's one time neighbour, Marty Marrinan.
